Another Bastion Falls

Not exactly anything major but still a sign of the times. Cartoon Network's Boomerang channel has never carried commercials - until today. The closest they came before was short little promos of their own shows.

And not just any commercials either but the lowest grade of the lot. Things like debt-reduction and work from home schemes. I guess ad money has become pretty tight and they took whatever they could get. Ugh!

But I guess there's one little bright spot underneath it all: Since little kids don't exactly have too much credit card debt, it means there are still parents (and grandparents, in my case) out there that watch TV *with* the kids. :)

Debt reduction; work from home; reversed mortgages; sell your junk gold; refinance.... they're all a sign of the times. We're all grasping for straws, and there's not a lot of people spending $300 on an Oreck vacuum cleaner, regardless of how good it works. And we can save money by responding to those heater commercials that are full of hot air. It won't be long before we can legally sell organs (besides the Hammond kind) and blood! Let's not forget to sign up for those medical studies, where you may be given a placebo for your life threatening illness.

Hey! I wonder how much I can get for my first-born...!?
